#31 – beermuda 2024
This episode is a similar take to 2023’s GABS Festival, where we roamed around a festival and poor Joel had to deal with more and more of Adsy’s antics as he consumed more beer. Thankfully there were only 4 breweries, but that meant 4 short bus trips, a roaming mic that Adsy forgot how to use, and Joel trying to keep things neat and tidy on the filming department. Bit of a language warning on this video, Adsy gets a bit sweary after a few beers it seems.
So, Beermuda 2024, what is it and what’s involved? Well it turns out that when you have 4 breweries that are not that far apart, but far enough apart that it’s difficult to do a walking tour, you can just get buses and have a touring festival all of your own! For years the event was called Beermuda Triangle and included Ballistic, Helios and Slipstream breweries. In 2023, Hiker came along. While no longer a triangle and more of a wobbly oblong, the name was shortened to just Beermuda.
“We’re going to all the brewries and then going to the city”
This Beermuda is the first of the year for 2024, with two events held each year around March/April and again in September/October. All the breweries get together and organise the buses, and try to make the day an awesome experience for all the new faces that inevitably wander through the venue doors. The day is a celebration of beer, with each venue doing extra activities or promotions to keep the crowd entertained.

enjoying beermuda march 2024
So for Beermuda 2024, the date was organised well in advance for March 23rd so all the venues could lock in what they wanted to do. At Ballistic Adsy had locked in 3 tattoo artists for some flash tattoos, so he got some more ink on his “beer arm”. Hiker had an inflatable axe throwing thing going on, Helios had a can colouring label competition and Slipstream had live entertainment and awesome pizzas as always!
Each venue essentially hires a bus, but we do it as a group and secure 4 buses, that leave each venue every 15 minutes. So if you wanted you could get a beer at each venue and go home in around 2 hours! Most people don’t though, with the venues all open from 12, some even earlier, the event is going as soon as the doors open. Once the buses start at 1pm though, it’s full steam ahead for 6 hours. By that stage you need to have worked out the bus route and where you want to finish up for the night, if that’s your thing.
With 4 breweries and up to 60 different beer taps pouring all day, the Beermuda festival is one of the most enjoyable events to come to. Some people even just show up to the venues not knowing what’s going on, and end up having a great time because the vibe is so amazing.
It’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day and every venue is well aware and looks after you in that department. Too many beers will have you removed from venues or buses if you’re being a troublemaker and after so many events run over the years without issues, it’s safe to say everyone is well behaved.
Adsy and Joel want to thank all the breweries and the random people we bumped into and had a quick chat with. There was so much footage that Joel has heaps left for future shorts and such. Keep an eye out for Beermuda around Oktoberfest time later in 2024!

Thanks to everyone who gave us the time to interrupt their beer drinking day. A few too manys towards the end Adsy got a bit sweary, so apologies as well as thanks.
We love our amazing sponsors Bintani, Konvoy Kegs, Craft Punks Canning, Rallings Labels and CRAFTD. Glass once again, our thanks. As industry people supporting the little guys like us, it’s invaluable what they do for the industry, but also in support of us.
A special thanks also to both Amber Hour App for giving us use of their app, and Beers Illustrated for providing us with our awesome logos and continual support when we accidently delete them!
And it goes without saying, thanks to Hiker Brewing Concern for giving us excellent beer many times a week, and letting run amock in their brewery more times per week than anywhere else.
And special thanks to you, our fans who may have watched or listened to this episode. Essentially, you’re the reason we’re doing this and it makes a world of difference. We could do it without you, but it wouldn’t be as fun and probably not as worthwhile.
